Twelve years ago the staff elected to join the Jostens' National Renaissance Program and adopted its principles of renewal and renovation of the education process at Soddy-Daisy High School. The Renaissance goal is to improve scholarship, attendance and behavior. This is accomplished through the involvement of the whole school community, students, teachers, administrators, parents, and the community. Academic achievement is recognized with awards of value to the student. Students are awarded either a Gold Card or a Blue Card. Benefits include:
Gold Cards are awarded for grades on the semester report care of all "A's". Blue Cards are awarded for "A's" and "B's". Bronze Cards are awarded for Perfect Attendance, Less then three tardies in all classes and No Office Referrals.

- Free (Gold Card) or 50% (Blue Card) off admission to all home SDHS athletic events and to special school sponsored events
