Students,
We are going to keep all of the information on this page that you will need to help you pass the Company Promotion Board.
Structure of the Company board:
1. Reporting in.
- Knock 3 times
- Upon “Enter!” open the door and march in
- Take a right or left face at the center of the table to face the Commander
- Say “Sir, Cadet” Rank, Name “reporting to the president of the promotion board Sir(or Ma’am).”
- They will tell you to stand at ease and ask you to hand them your portfolio.
- Keep good eye contact
2. JROTC Cadet Creed.
- Upon command “Creed” say the Cadet Creed.
- It might feel like an uncomfortable silence after your creed, just stay calm and collected
3. Questions.
- First the Commander will ask a question.
- -Always begin snd end the the answer to your question with “sir (or ma’am).”
- - The question should be re-stated in your anwer
- - Example: “What is the mission of JROTC?” “Sir, the mission of JROTC is to motivate young people to better citizens, Sir.”
- Next your Platoon leader will ask you a question.
- - This will be the same format as the Commander’s question.
- Your First Sergeant will ask his/her question third.
- - This is the same format, except you will say “First Sergeant” at the beginning and end of every question in the place of Sir or Ma’am
- They will then all ask a second question.
- Try and appear confident the entire time. Ways to appear so are to speak loudly and clearly, and to keep eye contact. They will be intimidating, but you have to be able to hold your own.
4. Dismissed.
- After all of your questions, you will hear the command, “Dismissed.”
- Come to attention
- Present Arms
- When the Commander lowers his arm, then you will lower yours
- Left or Right face towards the door you came in
- March to the door and leave.
- Remember to leave on your left foot first. They can and will count off.
